This year I’ve come up with a motto that reflects to my passion, my perseverance and my character as an individual and as a Paulinian student servant leader.
“CLEARER VISION. VISIBLE ACTIONS.”
I believe that the act of visioning makes a compelling picture based on assumptions about the future. This year my vision as a student leader is to create a clear directions for the students to unleash their hidden talents and their full potentials that will make our school soar high to achieve its vision to become a leading catholic university producing efficient and productive students.
The question is how I can make my vision to our university and to the entire student body become real? How I can achieve my vision? For me the answers are the following: to get out of our own comfort zones, break the barriers, know our strengths and weaknesses, and stand for what is right, be creative in everything you do and mostly be faithful to GOD. I know that these are the things that will help me to pursue, to work and to implement the vision that I have for our school.
Not only that, please allow me to present to you my platform called “LIFE”. Why LIFE? Because this coming academic year 2011-2012 I want to put more life to the entire student body.
First is letter” L”.
“L” means LEADERS IN ACTION
Since this year some of the organization officers were not really motivated and passionate to do their service to their constituents. This coming school year I will make sure that the new batch of the EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OFFICERS (PAULINIAN STUDENT GOVERNMENT) will build a strong camaraderie and will share new ideas for us to be empowered to become more motivated, passionate and sincere in serving the entire student body. Also in this year we will build more leaders that will be our helping hands to fulfil our vision and to do our mission this coming academic year. We will also create a leadership training that will assure you that the elected PSG officers and organization officers will become ready to their responsibilities and become prepare for their action plans for their respective organizations. I know that this activity will help our student servant leaders become efficient inside and outside the campus.
Second letter is “I”
“I” means Innovation and Improvement
Since the last administration’s activities become successful, we will still adopt those activities however we will improve those and most probably will innovate other activities.
Here are some activities that I want to propose for this school year:
1. Mr. and Ms. Paulinian which will showcase character, excellence and spirituality of a Paulinian students. This is the time for us to set models of excellence, character and faith for the student body. This activity was conceptualized by me and Kyndler Escio.
2. SPUQC Paulinian band concert/ Battle of the Bands. This is a good opportunity for the Paulinian students to unleash their talents in singing, plucking guitars and to beat the drums. I want to make the students enjoy the college life through music. This is also an opportunity to thank God for the gift that he has given to the Paulinian students.
3. College week (St. Paul’s week) I will propose that this full week activity will become a mini fair this coming school year and not only that students have a chance to become a professor, dean , staff for one week.
4. Lastly, we will level up the other major activities of the previous EC administration such as the freshmen orientation, Recruitment week, Buwan ng Wika, Christmas Feast and others. We will assure you that we will make fun activities that you guys will enjoy. I promise that I will bench mark activities from other schools that we can innovate and most probably implement in our own university.
Third letter is “F”
“F” means Friendship
This year we will continue to build a good relationship to the administration, faculty, staff, students, other Paulinian schools and other universities.
Last August I was sent to Thailand for a conference and there I’ve learned to make projects for social transformation. In our case we will ask assistance to our advocacy center and community development center to help us in implementing activities such as activities for the LOLA MADRES in VIGIL HOUSE, visit our GK villages and adopted communities and many more. This is the time that we need to get out of our comfort zone and to extend our arms to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. We will make our PVCD and the entire student body become active for community building and for social transformation.
Last November I’ve been chosen to be part of the first batch of the Ninoy and Cory Leadership Training and in December I attended the first Youth Congress on good citizenship. I’ve build good networks and friends in those conferences and this year I want to impart my learning to the student body through symposium or seminar for you to more appreciate the essence and worth of being a Filipino. For me this activity will help our school to achieve its vision in zealously serving the society.
Last letter is “E”
“E” is for Encouragement
I want to help the school and the EIRO to encourage more high school students to come and to study in our university that is why I will propose to have an inter high school leadership training that will be hosted by the SPUQC. In this inter high school leadership training we will invite students from schools around Quezon City and the other Paulinian schools. This is a good opportunity to market and to promote our school. We will also propose to make some things to produce to promote our school such us key chain, cellphone holders, t-shirts and other stuffs that will make our school be known but of course this will be in cooperation with EIRO and with the approval of the administration.
