DEJA VU

An early vacation happened this week (August 7-13, 2012) because of a calamaity happened in Manila. Areas in Manila and other regions were flooded for four days. Which was the reason why government and our school administration decided to cancel classes and resume it after a week.

I can't imagine why the same calamity happened again in our country after 2 years. The first one was in 2009 when Typhoon Ondoy brough flood in Manila and other regions and now in 2012 Southwest moonsoon brought flood again and left more than 12 people dead.

In my assessment, Filipinos haven't learned anything from our previous experiences in flood. They still throw their rabbish in the streets, drainage and even in rivers. I think people should learned personal discipline and also respect to the environment.

Even though same thing happened what was important was the good value that Filipino showed during the calamity. There was a quotation that came out in social media sites like facebook and twitter that FILIPINO SPIRIT IS WATER PROOF. Many organizations set up relief operations in their communities to help the flood victims. Indeed, many Filipinos still value BAYANIHAN. Right now, some families still stay in evacuation centers, others looking for a relocation site because they no longer want to stay in their house because they micght expereince flood again and others still stay in their house and hoping for a new beginning.

Aside from the things happened in our country I also want to share my personal life, last August 7, 2012 because of miscommunication in twitter I have faced a traumatic experience. I posted a tweet in our student government account on twitter to remind students that PSG is not in twitter to be insulted but to inform and still respected... But what happaned was, many students reacted and I felt being bullied, my name and personality was judged. However after one day, a mass communication student in my university posted a tweet informing everyone that we just had a miscommunication and everything became clear and the issue ended. However, I will still sue the other student who was very disrespectful in twitter. :)

Yesterday Saturday I slept late to watch football match between Mexico and Brazil. I find football more interesting than basketball. Why? Because I have experienced to watch a live football match between Leverkusen Germany and Spain last October 2011. Also, I watched the replay of semi finals of 10m Men diving event and final women's volleyball match between Brazil and America. I'm happy that Brazil won the gold. Those Brazilian girls drove my head crazy because of their beautiful body and healtyh bums. hehehe

Today is Sunday (August 12, 2012) and I'm very happy. I'm happy because after a month I was able to attend and hear Holy Mass again. It made me feel so refreshed and blessed.

However, I'm still upset and puzzled on how I and my partner will finish our thesis on time. I still beleieve that we can finish on time but for the mean time we'll just wait for the classes to resume and wait for Wednesday to come for us to consult with our statistician.

Tomorrow is another week to start. I will woke up at 4 am in the morning to watch the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics. I'm a bit addicted to Olympics. I hope for the 2016 Rio Olympics Philippines will have more athletes to join and hopefully they can already bring home medals for our country to end medal drought since 1996.

Lastly, Deja Vu was the title of the post is beacauseI felt that I'm still in London because of the Olympics... I really miss London. When I was 19 years old (that was last year), I got an opportunity to go to UK and see the beauty of London. I hope next year 2013, I'll be accepted as peer facilitator in GYS 2013.

But wait, I'm hpoing for the best with all my applications that I have submittedfor all intrnational contests and affiliations. I hope God will bless me more this coming months. Lord have mercy please let me become accepted. I'm really begging you.

Wait, I'm excited too because my aunt who lived in Libya for two years will have here vacation in the Philippines on September 2. :) Yehey...

So bitter huh?

At first I can't really accept what happened to my life after knowing that I can no longae have the chance to received any latin award in our graduation on March 2013. To tell you the truth my life revolved 360 degress (super OA talaga!).

Anyway, even though I'll never have a Latin award, I know that God has a better plan for me. Ofcourse as of now I don't know what that plan is but I know it is best and very special (Fighting!).

Well, as many friends told me before, I already received more than a Latin award through inspiring other youth to bring out the best in them and to pursue their advocacies. I have made those young people as my best award that I'll forver be proud of.

Right now, I'm just enjoying every single day in our university. Not like before that I was really competitive in class, studying very hard, doing assignmnets in the best way that I can...I'll just enjoy every tasks given to me, NO PRESSURES, NO STRESS, NO HASSLES... these are th feeling that I got used to after kthat fucking latin award faded in my dream and list of goals...

Literally I'm just enjoying my life as a student. I just divert my focus to other things like student council stuffs, knowing other people and searching for international opportunities hahaha. Sounds stupid right? But those are my hobbies now.

So what are my plans? I just go with the flow of my life. I enjoy every single minutes of the day woth my friends and family. Though, my interests in studying are no longer high than before I make sure that I can give my best in evry tasks given to me. Now I consider my self us no longer smart but street smaert Ano laban ka?)

Definitley I'm so bitter with my professors who don't give any considerations to me last year (ehem, however they're already forgiven...I'll just make sure that they will be proud of me 5 to 10 years from now. Hahaha)

Aside from being looser in school hahaha. I'm also looser in love life. I hope that the right girl will come on the right time and on the right place! hahaha

Okay, enough enough enough enough...

Julernetic! (Energetic July 2012)

July was the most energetic month for me. Why? Because I involved my self with so much activities.

I my self don't know how I managed my schedule for July. I'm studying, writing thesis, doing extra-curricular stuff and chilling out!

A month ago, I went to Changwon South Korea to represent Global Changemakers and also the Philippines in the 3rd East Asian Youth Forum. I met other youths from 12 other countries. Also, I met my co-GCM Anna Oposa and Dwight Ronan.
Delegates of the third EAS Youth Forum in South Korea. (Moonsung University)

It was my third time to visit South Korea and the experiences that I have gained were priceless. Especially the time we have been together, the sessiosn that we have attended, killing time moment and etc. The two most memorable experiences that I will never forget were when I have given the chance to carry our national flag during the opening ceremony of the summit and when we have drafted the Changwon declaration.

EASY Boy Band.
Let me not forget the craziest thing that I have done duringt the congress, I became an instant singer together with the other delegates. It was my debut as singer. We sang a song infront of the ministers and honorable guests during the farewell dinner! PAK!

I'm very thankful to Global changemakers for supporting me with my advocacy ad also financially. :)

After the conference I stayed with my friend's house in Busan. Wel,, in Gupo to be exact. Thanks ate Diana for letting me feel the Korean lifestyle. Indeed, Korea is my second home. :)
Last few hours in South Korea. Thanks Ate Diana and to her husband.
It was raining hard during my departure to South Korea. Anyway, thank God that my flight was not cancelled. Anyway, my flight route were BUSAN-CEBU-MANILA. It was fun experiencing a connecting flight. I felt very happy to have my breakfast in Cebu and land for the third time to see its beauty.
Mactan International Airport.

Life must go on after my vacation and trip in Korea. There were many things to finish like the chapter 5 of my thesis and also to finalize the things and segments for the G-project.

After preparing for so much things for the G-Project, last July 27, 2012 our final output made a blast! More than 1500 youth joined and watch our variety show.

I was one of the directors of the G-Project variety show and I'm so happy that we have made the show very unique. We have proved that we can do good output through the talents that God had given to us. We have gave our 200 % to make the event great. Thanks to my production staff who have the same vision and passion! The show is to let young people heed the call to work hard for their chosen advocacy. Also to let the youth become engaged to environmental activities in their own community.

Some of the highlights and segments of the second variety show (G-Project) that I have directed.

After the variety show, July 28, 2012 I together with my two other BYEE friends Andel Reyes from Batangas and Gene-Harn Lim from Malaysia helped me in conducting an environmental talk and workshop to grade school and high school students in Our Lady of Peace School in Antipolo City. The workshop and environmental talks served as my commitment to my Global changemakers' environmental organization BAKAS and The Econect Project.
I'm explaining what the kids will do during the workshop and what output they need to present to us after the workshop.

Gene Harn together with the grade school pupil in OLPS.

The three of us received a certificate of appreciation
After the talks and workshop, we went to our house and ate our dinner. After our little stay in our house we go directly to Mall of Asia and CCP to watch short independent films.

Month of July was full of activities, blessings and surprises. I never thought that I can still impart my passion in making other people become aware of the problems in our environment through my skills and simple actions.

Indeed, July 2012 was a memorable month for me.

Looking forward for more activities this month of August!
